History

Co-founded by Dr. Anita Borg and Dr. Telle Whitney in 1994 and inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, AnitaB.org’s Grace Hopper Celebration conference is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing and technology to the forefront.

About the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI)

GHCI is India’s largest technical conference for women in computing and technology.

The conference is co-presented by the AnitaB.org (ABI) India and Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) India. AnitaB.org India has been successfully organizing this annual conference since 2010. GHCI focuses on the career, research and entrepreneur interests of women in computing and technology. Presenters at the conference are leaders in their respective fields from industry, academia and government.

The conference results in collaborative proposals, networking and mentoring for attendees. The conference also offers professional development through a variety of activities.

Impact

GHCI 17, held in Bangalore, India  hosted 3,607 attendees from 406 organizations. GHCI had 74 sessions with 184 speakers.
