Tips to Make an Impressive GHCI 20 Submission

It is a great experience and learning opportunity to make a GHCI submission for the program content. Here are a few tips to help you make an impressive submission. Good luck!

Tip 1: Learn all you can about Grace Hopper Celebration India, the largest gathering of women technologists in Asia. Check out the GHCI 19 Impact Report and last year’s program schedule to get inspired by the variety of topics covered at the Celebration.

Tip 2: View all of the GHCI 20 tracks and decide which track your submission is best aligned with. Ensure your submission focuses on a technical concept, technology, and so on. Submissions on specific products/services from a particular organization will be disqualified.

Tip 3: Ensure your submission topic is on a popular current or future technology and is of high interest and exciting for all technologists. The submission should be original, have adequate technical depth, and be in alignment for the chosen audience-level. Make it shine!

Tip 4: Once you’ve narrowed down on a track and topic, pick the most suitable session format. Pick the format that fits your topic and the speaking style of the presenters.

Tip 5: Do not submit the same topic or variations of the same topic in different tracks or across different formats. All such entries will be disqualified.

Tip 6: Try and collaborate with individuals outside of your organization for your submission. A submission with representatives from various organizations is more comprehensive and offers diverse knowledge and insights. This specially applies to a panel.

Tip 7: Think hard and come up with a submission title that is catchy. Put in the same effort for your title that goes into the submission abstract and details, as it is the first thing that attracts attendees to come to your session.

Tip 8: You can submit only one submission for GHCI. The submission can be made as an author, speaker, panelist, or moderator.

Tip 9: Do not wait till the last minute to start working on your submission. All submissions have to be made on the online tool – Linklings. Submissions close on  June 7, 2020 at 10.30 p.m. IST.
