How does the review process work?

All the content presented at the conference undergoes a rigorous review process. Each track is staffed with a highly qualified, passionate team of reviewers with a deep understanding of topical areas. The reviewers come from large and small organizations, academic institutions and startups. They are looking for novel approaches and fresh perspectives in each submission. You can see a list of the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) Conference Leaders and reviewers here – GHCI Conference Leadership Team.

Review process: AnitaB.org India is committed to ensuring that the GHCI conference review process leads to high quality and credible sessions.

All submissions are reviewed on a fair and even-handed basis across all sub-disciplines. AnitaB.org India and the conference leadership team take this into account when recruiting and instructing reviewers. Each reviewer prepares their review independently of other reviewers. The committee organizes a discussion of the submissions, but only between reviewers who have already submitted a full review in draft.  A high standard of written presentation is also expected. These criteria apply equally to all submissions.

Each submission is reviewed and assigned a rating based on –
* Relevance
* Soundness
* Importance
* Originality
* Quality of submission

  • Depending on the Track and the reviewing needs, a proposal may have been reviewed by multiple reviewers to get a balanced view.
  • The reviewers are assigned without conflict of interest.
  • Committee Chairs and Co-Chairs do their due diligence to make sure there are no discrepancies in the review process. They make sure all papers are reviewed appropriately by often seeking second opinions.
  • Reviewers are sought across the industry and academia based on their expertise.

Once the Ratings are determined, the conference leadership team designs a well balanced program with content that allows our diverse attendee base comprised of students, early career, mid-career, and senior level women (from Industry, Government and Academia) and entrepreneurs to participate. Due to load balancing and limited program slots, not all meritorious submissions can be accepted.

During October 2015, you will receive an email notification informing you of the decision of your submission. In order to preserve the integrity of the process, we do not change these decisions once they are made.
