Good soft skills continue to be a fundamental and most appreciated attribute, in our tech-enabled and technology world of business. While our qualifications can help us get a job, it is the soft skills that help us carry out our work in the best manner. Soft skills are integral for any role, as they improve one’s ability to communicate effectively, develop leadership skills, enhance presentation skills, improves strategies for transition and change… the benefits are endless.
This Track will look at what are the soft and complex people skills required at today’s workplaces that can help women technologists across all job levels and set them apart from the crowd. The Track will cover topics and discussions on how we can consciously develop better soft skills and use them in our work environment.
The soft skills topics can include (but not limited to):
- Emotional intelligence
- Relational intelligence
- Holistic perspective
- Empathy and intuition
- Decision making
- Personal effectiveness
- Unconscious bias
- Gender sensitization
- Imposter syndrome
Papers in areas of new age people and collaboration skills that are not well-explored in the past and are emerging trends are particularly encouraged.
Content Level: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced career levels.
- Beginner implies that the content will be at the introductory.
- Intermediate assumes that the attendee has some knowledge of the topic already.
- Advanced assumes that the attendee has in-depth knowledge and intends on learning something novel in that area.
