What do GHC Scholarships cover?
A full scholarship covers conference registration, a shared hotel room with one other scholarship recipient for up to two nights (check in 19/11 and check out 21/11), meals during the conference and travel expense reimbursement up to a certain amount. We also award partial scholarships that cover some of these expenses.

If I am awarded a scholarship, will I be only be able to interview with my sponsors?
No, all companies that are part of the career fair can interview you.

How does the review process work?
The Scholarship Committee and Scholarship Reviewers consist of men and women from industry and academia. Each application is reviewed by at least two Scholarship Reviewers and the Scholarship Committee. Reviewers answer questions about each application, and the results are tallied and reviewed by the committee co-chairs. Scholarships are awarded to the candidates with the highest scores, while maintaining  a balance of representation from various institutions and backgrounds.

What criteria are used to award scholarships?
We use a variety of criteria and try to evaluate each candidate individually. We consider academic achievement, focus on specialization through internships, paper presentations, participation in contests and workshops, projects and extracurricular activities.

What special events should I attend at the conference?
We suggest that scholarship recipients plan to attend the following events:

  • The Career Fair, which will be held during the conference on each day—be sure to stop by the sponsor booths to discuss career opportunities
  • Student focused sessions and the keynote

Please check the program schedule for information on all activities and sessions.

Registration Information

My school registered me or I had registered before I knew I won a scholarship. What do I do?
You do not need to re-register online, but you do need to contact us so we can issue the reimbursement. Please contact with your scholarship registration code and we will issue the refund and modify your registration record.

Yes. If you do not receive a scholarship we will give you a window of time to register for the conference at the Student rate. If you would like to come to the conference but think you cannot afford to attend we encourage you to consult with a sympathetic person in your department in order to determine if you have exhausted all local opportunities to secure funding. We also encourage you to consider becoming a Hopper at the conference. Hoppers are temporary conference staff who work 8 hours at the conference in exchange for a free conference registration. Please contact us at  for more information and to apply.
